Master Classes, Workshops and Lecture/Demonstrations Master classes, workshops and lecture/demonstrations may be booked as a single engagement or may be arranged as part of a school residency or performance booking. Master classes taught by Artistic Director Cori Terry and company members focus on the basic principles of normative technique and Wellspring's evolution of it through current repertoire. Company members assist and demonstrate during this 1-1/2 hour session. Workshops demonstrate the basics of movement and modern dance, and provide non-dancers with the experience of interacting with professional dance artists. A popular choice by schools and community groups, Wellspring develops unique workshops to share the joy of movement with special populations, such as developmentally disabled adults and inner-city youth. Lecture/Demonstrations involve demonstrations by Wellspring company members as Ms. Terry describes the dancers' regime, including technique class, the rehearsal process and the creation of a dance. Excerpts from original choreography performed by the entire company provide a glimpse into Wellspring's unique contribution to modern dance during this one hour program.
